The Wonders of Water!

We all may be told as a child, "drink tons of water." As we know, water is extremely beneficial to our functions within our body, but its also beneficial for healthy looking skin! What water does is that by having water in our systems, it keeps our skin hydrated and young looking for longer! This will prevent wrinkles and make your skin less dry, especially on these cold winter days in Canada! This may be a solution for many people, but I mean, why not drink water! It's beneficial for your skin and well being! Thanks for reading this blog brought to you by

Natural & Easy; Lemon-Sugar Facial Scrub

Wouldn't you prefer to use ingredients that you are familiar with rather than not knowing OR can barely pronounce?! I know I definitely would... Of course these ingredients would be found in your kitchen... Better yet, in your diet! If you would add these two types of ingredients into your daily diet, then why not create something out of it for your face as well?! I mean lemon is a healthy fruit, and sugar... well, sugar is okay..depending on what it's being used for, right?

Introducing... The lemon-sugar facial scrub! This invigorating facial scrub is excellent for those who are prone to acne, or suffering from acne scars. How?

Lemons - are rich in vitamin C, removes bacteria and oils by cleaning deeply, tightens pores, lightens scars & evens out skin tone

Sugar - Is a natural exfoliant - a source of gycolic acid (which is also helps even skin tone) & removes dead skin cells, to allow new cells to develop

This remedy is one of the easiest to make... Just simply squeeze half a lemon into a small glass bowl, removing any seeds from the juice. Then add about a tablespoon of sugar into the bowl and stir around until the mixture is even and thick. Once that is done, make sure you have already cleaned your face. Take the mixture and rub into your hands. Apply it onto your face and create circular motions, all around the forehead, cheeks, nose (especially, to remove any blackheads) and chin. After about 2 minutes  of scrubbing, rinse off with lukewarm water until all of the residue is gone...And there you have it! Bright, beautiful and rejuvenated skin! I hope you enjoyed it!

Directions:

Use a bout 2 tablespoons of honey to apply all over the face and leave on for about 5 mins, then rinse with warm water and pat dry.

A home-ingredient that cleanses & moisturizes? Here it is! Olive Oil!

Hi everyone! Is your skin feeling a little dull & dry today? Yet you don't feel like using your regular cleanser because you think it may make your skin feel the same, if not worse? Well, I know exactly where you're coming from. I mean.. I can barely pronounce the ingredients that are in my bottle of cleanser...salicylic..WHAT? Well, I've discovered something that was sitting in my kitchen all this time, and I thought it was only useful for cooking... I was wrong. Turns out that olive oil has a number of benefits that can make your skin look and feel more beautiful!

Olive oil is rich in anti-oxidants, including vitamins A & E... which does wonders for your skin. Especially for those who are more concerned with the aging of the skin. The vitamin E in the oil also contains compounds that help restore skin elasticity. This all natural home-ingredient is safe enough to use for those who are concerned with comedogenic issues.

Lets begin! First you would need a wash cloth and about 1 table spoon of the olive oil. Begin with splashing the face with some lukewarm water. Then gently put the oil into the palm of your hands and rub it together until it becomes warm. Lightly apply it onto your face and make slow circle and up-ward strokes... Allowing the oil to penetrate into the pores to get rid of dirt, oils and make-up for about 3 minutes. Once you're done, soak your washcloth in warm-to-hot water and gently place the whole cloth onto your face...Letting the steam to open up pores. Lightly wipe your face with the cloth, and repeat one more time. You will not need to moisturize afterwards.. I promise you that.
